Shirin Forootan is a professional mediator and neutral who exclusively mediates employment law cases. She currently serves on the mediator panel for the California Civil Rights Department (formerly Department of Fair Employment and Housing), where she helps resolve civil rights complaints filed by employees against their employers. She also serves as a Settlement Officer for employment cases with the Los Angeles Superior Court through its Resolve Law and MVP program.
Ms. Forootan has a distinguished career practicing law in Orange County for over 17 years, including working at large, mid-size, and small firms, on both the plaintiff and defense side. Ms. Forootan is currently the President-Elect of the Orange County Bar Association. In 2026, she will be installed as President.
Ms. Forootan completed a course of study entitled Professional Mediation at the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Ms. Forootan previously served as Chair of the Orange County Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section. Ms. Forootan is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association.
